Digital Wanderer

Today Vadim, whom I share a room with, dragged me into central Riga, even though I had to do a lab assignment that was due yesterday.
Vadim wanted to buy a book about repairing and servicing a Chevrolet Blazer. Oddly enough, he found a book about this not particularly common car in an online shop, in Russian no less, and for next to nothing. Even more curiously, instead of checking the address of the physical shop where he could buy it, for some reason he decided to look for an equivalent in another shop. The chances of that were less than zero, especially considering that he hadn't even bothered to find out where there was so much as a single bookshop in the city centre!
In the end, we wandered blindly around the whole old lady (Old Riga) several times over and beyond, visiting about six shops. Naturally, we didn't find the book we needed anywhere, but we did buy a USB extension cable that I had been completely unable to find anywhere the day before, and a music CD.
With our feet throbbing, we boarded a suitable means of transport—a tram. I should explain here that our dorm, which is 10 km from the city centre, can be reached by one tram route, five trolleybus routes, at least three buses, and a couple of minibuses. All of them come from the city centre and stop no more than a 5–10-minute walk from the dorm.
But we don't take the easy way—we went to the Alfa shopping centre, which is another 2 km beyond where we live and contains two bookshops. Behold the miracle! One of them had the book. A different one, but on the same subject. The price, however, did not make us happy at all—$25. So we stocked up on groceries and trudged home.

Mmm, I almost forgot to reveal the most important thing—what music was on the CD. Must be fate :-)
